Electrician
Major duties include but are not limited to:
1. Installation of electrical systems 2. Modification of electrical systems 3. Troubleshooting electrical systems 4. Repair of electrical systems Performs wide variety of duties of a journeyman electrician involving installation, modification, repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance and testing of complex electrical systems, circuits, equipment, appliances, controls, components, lighting fixtures, emergency electrical systems and back -up electrical systems. Maintains and repairs all electrical equipment including transformers, feeders, motors, generators, starters, overload and over current protectors and controllers. Responsible to troubleshoot and maintain electric and electronic control circuits on various equipment including, dietetic equipment, pumps compressors vacuum systems. Responsible for providing advice, training, guidance and assistance for lower grade workers assigned to help on assigned tasks. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team to include but not limited to electrician, plumber, pipefitter, heating ventilation air conditioning, refrigeration, maintenance Mechanic, painter, carpenter, boiler operator, controls mechanic and may be asked to support other functions encompassing the mission for maintenance and operations of the facility. Experience:

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
The incumbent works from ladders, scaffolding and hydraulic work platforms. He/she often works in portions of the electrical systems requiring attention that are in cramped, dirty and hard to reach locations. The work involves prolonged crouching and standing and frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in exhausting and uncomfortable positions. The incumbent frequently lifts or carries tools, equipment, ladders, scaffolding, parts and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. Occasionally, the incumbent will be required to lift and carry over 50 pounds. Electricians are exposed to a variety of weather conditions, both in winter and summer, in making repairs and installations on exterior work sites. During emergency repairs, extremes of bad weather are sometimes present. Many work sites are hot, dirty, dusty, greasy, poorly lit, cramped and with unpleasant orders. Occasionally, the incumbent will be required to work in the vicinity of asbestos containing materials. The incumbent will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary to accomplish assigned tasks in a safe manner.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
