One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 in the federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as experience providing organizational assistance and technical guidance in the management of multi-disciplinary natural resource programs; assists with the preparation of national policies, procedures and standards related to national monuments, conservation areas, and natural resources; assists with the development of annual work plan and budget related to multiple natural resources; applying solutions to solve natural and cultural resource management problems; developing and maintaining effective relationships and communications with a variety of groups, such as local, State and Federal agencies, tribal governments, advisory groups, congressional staff, interest and user groups, and private organizations; OR - Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR - 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR - LL.M., if related.; - OR - Combination of Education and
Experience:
You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. For GS-12:
One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 in the federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as experience providing organizational assistance and technical guidance in the management of multi-disciplinary natural resource programs; preparation of national policies, procedures and standards related to national monuments, conservation areas, and natural resources; developing responses to requests for sensitive information and legal issues raised from special interest groups; assists with the development of annual work plan and budget related to multiple natural resources; applying solutions to solve natural and cultural resource management problems; developing and maintaining effective relationships and communications with a variety of groups, such as local, State and Federal agencies, tribal governments, advisory groups, congressional staff, interest and user groups, and private organizations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level. Travel and relocation expenses will be paid consistent with the Federal Travel Regulation, Chapter 302, and Departmental policy. Physical activity is primarily that typical of office work. Substantial time is spent sitting at a computer terminal. Occasional field visits are required to look at sites and areas under study, and may often include the need to hike, mountain bike, boat, rock climb, ride horses, and/or drive off-highway vehicles in undeveloped, back country conditions. The incumbent may be required to secure any necessary credentials and/or safety certifications to complete these activities as a part of their official duties. Work Environment:
Work is usually performed in an office setting, except for occasional field visits. Generally, the work environment involves ordinary apparel, health, and safety considerations. Work is usually done individually or in small groups, but sometimes involves large groups and public events that occur outside of business hours in the evenings and weekends. Field visit conditions will range from fully developed and accessible recreational sites and areas, to undeveloped, back country conditions that will include exposure to harsh weather, wildlife, and geographical features.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
