Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for the supervision of all coding and compliance with Current Procedural Terminology and assignment of ICD-9-CM/ ICD-10-CM codes for services rendered and to ensure compliant billing through on site and prospective auditing and denial management. In addition, this position is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of timely entering of revenue and to ensure all professional services rendered are coded to the highest level of specificity
Nature and Scope:
This person supervises workflows and staffing related to physician/provider CPT Coding/billing for professional fee services; Maintains a close working relationship with the Medical Directors and Operations Management to support provider coding accuracy that is consistent with industry standards and in compliance with coding guidelines.
This person will be accountable for developing/maintaining a culture of service, financial discipline, compliance, ethics and integrity; and maintains knowledge of and assures departmental compliance with Principles of Responsibility, policies and procedures, applicable regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
This person responds appropriately to observed fraud or abuse, provides reporting on provider education results for multiple audiences, and develops the Coding staff. This person assesses and maintains impact of current compliance activities and evaluates risk factors of coding and documentation practices; and uses understanding of interrelationships among systems across functional areas to redesign processes, improve efficiency, and ensure optimal results for the future.
This position has access to proprietary information and has contact with external organizations, which mandates high standards of professionalism, communication, performance, and respect for confidentiality.

Minimum
Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Education:
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Requires Coding Certification.
Experience:
Requires four years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare and coding environment.
License(s):
Certification(s):
Certified Professional Coder with AAPC, AHIMA, Diagnostic coding or a combination of compliant, nationally recognized coding certification
Computer / Typing:
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
