Position
Summary: A working lead who, with guidance from the Production Supervisor, directs the work of a various third shift teams to ensure production expectations are met.
Responsibilities:
o Drive adherence to policy and continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Inventory (SQDCI).
o Manage timely completion of the production order dispatch for the departments and review items for completion.
o Allocate associates to work in bottle neck areas or reallocate associates based on need.
o Facilitates continuous improvement activities.
o Work closely with supervisors and production support departments to resolve issues and follow-up on preventative and corrective actions.
o Assist employees within the team with technical or process issues such as inventory discrepancies, information, drawings, and procedures.
o Perform critical jobs or tasks within the department to cover manning shortages as needed, including welding.
o Assure that the appropriate equipment and tools are provided, adequately maintained and safely operated.
o Act as a backup in the absence of the supervisor.
o Prioritize schedules and expedite production/customer orders as needed.
o Conduct trainings sessions covering specific areas such as on the job training, refresher training, etc.
o Confer with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situation requiring additional training to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations and business initiatives.
o Perform material handling duties as required.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
Minimum
Qualifications:
o High school education or equivalent (High School Diploma, GED, etc)
o Minimum of three years' experience in a Manufacturing environment (or similar environment).
o Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal English formats.
o Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends with little advanced notice.
Preferred
Qualifications:
o Experience in lean manufacturing.
o AA degree.
o Ability to speak effectively in interpersonal situations and before groups of employees.
o Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format.
o Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
o Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities.
o Strong organizational, presentation, facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
o Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
o Basic knowledge of SAP.
o Ability to operate Raymond lift, forklift, and/or other material handling equipment.
o Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical data, safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals.
o Able to work safely and produce effectively with minimal supervision.
Physical requirements and working conditions:
o Able to stand on feet continuously during shift and able to lift 30 lbs without assistance.
o Requires PPE to include safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, gloves and hearing protection (as required in
high noise areas).
