Description: The SAP Basis Administrator's role is to monitor and operate the organization's SAP systems through implementation
Best practices. This includes installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, and maintaining the company's investment in SAP technologies.
o Evaluate, install, configure, and deploy SAP applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise
o Collaborate with analysts, developers, and system owners in the testing of SAP software programs and applications.
o Perform daily monitoring and troubleshooting of the SAP systems.
o Install and configure patches and upgrades as required.
o Work with IGT Systems and Storage teams to provide support for both current and future SAP landscapes.
First Year Goals
o Gain an understanding of the technologies supported within the IGT Basis team.
o Provide second level support including on call addressing issues assigned to basis team.
o Create incidents with SAP support on issues that need to be escalated.
o Complete end to end installation and system copy of SAP ECC system.
o Install new applications based on project requirements.
Required Qualifications o Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
o Ability to evaluate, install, configure, and deploy SAP applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
o Collaborate with analysts, developers, and system owners in the testing of SAP software programs and applications.
o Perform daily monitoring and troubleshooting of the SAP systems.
o Install and configure patches and upgrades as required.
o Solid Linux and Windows skills.
o Technically fluent in relational database administration, including MS SQL Server.
o Must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
o Ability to monitor and manage the progress of tasks.
o Basic knowledge of business systems environment.
o Good understanding of corporate IT policies, procedures and standards.
o Knowledge of Service Level Commitments.
Preferred Qualifications o 1 -2 years direct experience administrating SAP applications (i.e. SAP Basis, ERP, BW, etc.)
o Knowledge of enterprise-level applications including ERP.
o Technical knowledge of the relevant part(s) of the infrastructure and operating environment.
