Summary:
Assist the System/Network Administrators in the support of the Wide Area Gaming and Wide Area Progressive computers and networks. Monitor networked game operation and communication via computer printout, displays, event and error logs, and notifying appropriate people of problems, and other status. Assist the Wide Area Gaming System Administrators the repair, troubleshooting and installation of Wide Area Progressive and Wide Area Gaming products. Compile and print reports, statistics and performance data; perform system back-ups and daily operational checks, and communicate effectively with customers, support agents, and other team members.
Essential Job Functions:
Meets technical/performance requirements of WAP Operator I and II
Troubleshoot computer and network issues and provide guidance to Wide Area Gaming staff.
Work with the vendors and field service technicians to resolve connectivity issues
Function as the first level support agent for Wide Area Gaming connectivity and configuration issues.
Evaluate current install procedures, identify issues and concerns, implement improvements and create scripts to assist in installation, configuration, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of the Wide Area Progressive and Wide Area Networked gaming systems.
Work with the Wide Area Gaming Network and System Administrators to identify needs and develop necessary troubleshooting procedures and decision trees.
Complete assigned daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly and annual tasks on time and within budget
Track and manage break fix and vendor/carrier issues.
Maintain composure in stressful situations and make quality decisions under pressure.
Train new and less experienced staff to operate and monitor the Wide Area Progressive and Wide Area Gaming products
Perform and validate all new installations to ensure they are installed and configured per procedure.
Perform your duties with minimal direct supervision
Other Duties and
Responsibilities:
Assist the WAG System Administrators in ensuring configuration, compliance and monitoring of the Operations Center equipment and networks.
Act as back up and assist the WAG System Network Administrators when needed.
When necessary, perform in the field troubleshooting either as the on-site technician, or as the Central Site contact for the System/Network administrator in the field.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Progress towards relevant technical certification preferred
Required
Experience:
3 years Wide Area Progressive or Wide Area Operations Specific experience
Preferred
Experience:
Computer experience with network knowledge.
Gaming industry knowledge.
Ability to configure point to point frame relay and DSL connections
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Excellent verbal communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to listen and communicate effectively.
Quality written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to follow directions and procedures
A thorough understanding of the wide area and networked gaming systems software/components, and the impact erroneous decisions/errors can have on the systems.
Demonstrated commitment to following notification and escalation procedures
Commitment to excellence in customer service.
Ability to create detailed documentation.
Microsoft Windows experience
Physical Requirements: Primarily an office environment. May include work in casino areas with smoke and high levels of noise.
Work Conditions: May require weekend and evening hours and some travel may be required.
