Job Description
This position is for our Cable Tray department on 1st shift.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
o Understand and proficiently operate all press controls and fabrication equipment.
o Troubleshoot various machinery problems.
o Identify and tag tubs according to shop orders.
o Quality check and document all parts run on machines.
o Retrieve and enter data into SAP computer system.
o Inventory components and supplies as needed to ensure efficient and timely production.
o Keeps work areas clean and safe.
o Supports all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to:
oMaintain 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas.
oTrack and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor.
oEncourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility.
o Other various duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
Physical Requirements:
o Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
o Able to lift 35 pounds consistently without assistance, 75 pounds occasionally with assistance.
o Repetitive wrist, elbow and arm movement continuously throughout the work day.
o Must be able to wear required PPE as required by company policy and procedure.
o Able to wear leather gloves required to handle sharp metal, and face shield when grinding and deburring.
Working Conditions:
o Exposure to high noise level (ear protection may be required in some areas).
o Work environment exposes operator to sharp objects and oil.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
Minimum Qualifications
o High School education or equivalent (i.e., diploma or GED).
o Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format in English.
o Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends with little advanced notice.
