This position encompass a wide range of support functions onsite such as technical problem troubleshooting, including hardware repair and installation, software repair and installation, setup services, third party repair facilitation, PC Recycle, distribution of hubs and LAN cable, triage, and escalation to Global Helpdesk Tier 2. Deskside Support Services also include Smart Hands support (e.g., server reboots, cabling and other tasks performed using remote supervision and instruction from client personnel).
Key Responsibilities
- Desktop PC and Notebook Warranty Repairs - Supplier shall manage equipment repair within the terms of the OEM warranties, facilitating 3rd Party repair where Supplier does not perform break-fix and coordinate PC loaners and spare parts as part of break-fix support
- Desktop PC and Notebook Non-Warranty Repairs - Supplier will use reasonable effort) to assist with non-warranty repairs to equipment, including facilitating 3rd party repair of non-standard equipment
- PC Hardware and Peripherals Installation and Configuration - Install Client PC hardware/peripherals and mobile devices, assisting with configuration, verifying network connectivity, ability to print, access to email
- Client Data Backup - Assist Client with backup and transfer of data as part of break-fix or new PC set-up in accordance with the Procedures Manual.
- Software Support - Troubleshoot and resolve Desktop/Notebook software issues for n and n-1 operating systems used and for approved applications
- Software Installation - Install standard IT global image of n and n-1 operating systems and Microsoft Office. Support deployment of upgrade/new versions of OS and Microsoft Office
- Network Connectivity Support - Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues or escalate to designated Tier 2 organization as required per defined processes. Provide remote access support, Smart Card support and HomeLan configuration support designated locations
- Network Printer Support - Verify device network connectivity; add corporate printer queues; complete general Tier 1 troubleshooting on corporate printers at all locations
- Security Related Support - Assist with port shutdowns, password and Smart Card pin resets
- Telephony - Supplier to direct requests for phone set delivery, activation and onsite support to other IT approved vendors that provide these services as required per defined processes.
Additional Duties
- Asset Management (excluding all services associated with break-fix events) - Support annual PC Asset Inventory; Support management of local PC and peripherals stock; purchase and receive PC's, peripherals and computer supplies
- Conference Room/Training Room Setup & Support - Set up and provide support for conference room/ training room equipment (excluding PC's and mobile devices)
- Generic Client Data Backup - Assist Client with backup and transfer of data not related to break-fix or new PC set-up
- Data Recovery Services - Facilitate Tier 2 data recovery
- PC & Equipment Recycle - Prepare retired PC's and equipment for recycling (for example, making sure all data is erased)
- PC Move - Support individual moves and group moves - disconnect PCs before move, set up PCs after move
- IT Smart Hands Support - Perform work on behalf of Tier 2 groups. Includes 1) high priority requests when standard IT resource is not available; 2) non-recurring requests; 3) activities that take less than one hour (longer duration activities to be set up as Projects).

Role Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- 3or more years of experience in a hands-on desk side support role required
- Must have valid driver's license with reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance (required)
- Advanced knowledge of Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems, Microsoft Office software required
- Proficient with PC hardware repair and can troubleshoot/resolve software and operating system issues.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
- A+, Lenovo, Dell and HP certifications a plus
