Position Purpose:
This position is accountable for salad, dessert, and sandwich preparations for the cafe and or physician s lounge; providing customers with fresh attractively displayed and promptly served cold foods, deli items, salad bar, and hot food items from the steam table.This position will provide relief for the cashier as needed.This position may also be accountable for providing assistance at buffet and sit down affairs.
Nature and Scope:
Provides general food production work in the making of sandwiches; portioning, serving, and displaying food items; and setting up, maintaining and dismantling self-serve salad bar, steam table, service area, and/or deli while dealing diplomatically with customers and guests of the cafe and physician s lounge or other assigned work area.Also responsiblefor the set up, presentation, serving and maintenance, dismantling and cleaning of all food service items.
The incumbent is challenged to maintain stock and appearance of prep area, deli, salad bar and or physician s lounge or other assigned work area during rush hours while endeavoring to portion and serve needed additional salad and dessert items in a timely manner.This is to be done as to not cause delay in service to our customers.
An additional challenge to this position is serving as a relief cashier to provide fast, accurate and great customer service for customers during rush business hours, and helping to maintain cleanliness of tables in dining area and physician s lounge. This is dependant based on monitoring of workflow and areas of need.
Decisions that involve questions on portion sizes, complaints regarding food or service, problems with machinery/equipment, personnel issues, or those problems/circumstances that do not follow established guidelines should be referred to the Supervisor.
Other related duties as required.
