Job Description:Prepares products for shipping by preparing and protecting product; building crates.Job Duties May Include:- Planning designing crates by looking-up standard specifications; analyzing special product requirements.- Building crates by selecting, measuring, cutting lumber, plastic, or metal using sawing and cutting equipment and hand tools; moving product into place using forklift truck and conveyors.- Protecting products by affixing padding and weatherproofing materials; securing product to pallet and crate; preparing truck or railroad bracing.- Identifying product for shipping by verifying customer delivery information; preparing and affixing address stencil.- Keeping supplies ready by inventorying crating stock; requesting required supplies.- Improving product protection by recommending improved designs; conducting durability tests.- Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.- Accomplishing manufacturing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.Skills
