Essential Functions
Campus Security
Mon & Tue: 11pm-8am, Fri, Sat & Sun: 7am-4pm, Wed & Thu: OFF
Assume oversight of all security & safety activities on assigned shift.
Assist the
manager
, safety and security and supervisor with staff training, evaluating staff performance, and recommending and implementing departmental changes as approved by the manager, human resources prior to implementation.
Supervise and conduct frequent security inspections to identify deficiencies and recommend changes.
Protect and secure center
vehicles
and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks and emergency equipment; maintain activity log of findings and corrective action taken.
Patrol and monitor center grounds and the surrounding vicinities as required to ensure safety and proper behavior of students; resolve potential or occurring problems.
Assist in transporting ill or injured for care as required.
Assist in emergency evacuation,
control
and accountability of students and staff; respond to fire alarms; take necessary steps to report fires; reset fire alarm equipment.
Assist staff and law enforcement personnel in controlling disturbances; conduct preliminary investigation and submit accident reports.
Act as liaison with law enforcement and fire agencies when in charge.
Perform the duties of a mobile advisor.
Perform administrative functions such as logs, incident reports and accident documentation.
Oversee student, staff, and visitor check-out and check-in proceedings; schedule security desk coverage.
Assist in the distribution of student employee mail.
Education and Experience
Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and three years experience working with youth preferred. Previous security related experience is desired. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and
computer
proficiency required. Valid driver''s license in the state of Nevada with an acceptable driving record.
