Job Summary We are looking for a self-motivated technician who will work within the engineering department.
The primary function is to assist engineers in test and verification of new plasma cutting tables, complimentary products and procedures.
The technician will liaise with other sites to become proficient with new technologies and products to support verification and test.
The technician will support marketing by producing cut samples Job Duties and Responsibilities Support development, test and manufacture of products and other equipment.
Test and quantify functional data with respect to product performance, behavior and use Perform accelerated life and stress testing to verify MTBF Evaluate competitors' products Cut sample parts for marketing and sales Build and maintain lab equipment Participate in continuous improvement programs Perform general shop duties as assigned and assist in other areas as workload requires Adhere to all health and safety requirements All other duties as assigned Education and Experience Associates degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school in electrical, mechanical or technical manufacturing discipline or 3
years' experience working in an electrical, mechanical or technical environment Good electromechanical skills Ability to fully utilize shop procedures and mathematics to execute job Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Office products; Excel, Word, Power point Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and possess and sense of urgency Physical Demand and Work Environment Physical demands:
While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to sit for extended periods of time; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
Be able to climb ladders; lift hand tools approx.
1-15 lbs in weight to complete machine assembly, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance and stand/walk on concrete floors for long periods of time.
Repetition with activity; computer work.
Manufacturing environment; may be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, and machinery with moving parts.
