Job Description This position is to work in the microplastics laboratory at DRI in Reno in person.
The position will include conducting basic laboratory processes, using a microscope to identify microplastic particles, and recording observations.
This position will also include occasional field work and assisting graduate students.
Required Qualifications Laboratory experience through a class, ability to input data into excel, ability to follow directions, and excellent communications skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications Previous laboratory work experience, previous experience working with microscopes.
Compensation Grade $18.
00 to $22.
00 / hr no benefits Schedule During the training period of about 2 months, the work hours are between M-F 8-5 pm for 20 hours/week.
After successfully completing the training, the work hours will be flexible, 20 hours/ week.
Physical Requirements Physical aspects:
The position will require working in a laboratory, extended periods of sitting and/or standing, with the potential for field work locally.
Conditions of Employment:
Potential travel locally Handle laboratory chemicals while adhering to laboratory procedures.
Exempt No Full-Time Equivalent 45.
