Position Description:
At a GlanceLegrand has an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join the Data, Power & Control Team in Reno, NV.
What Will You Do?As a buyer at Server Technology, you will play a vital role in managing our procurement processes and ensuring the availability of quality components and materials to support our domestic and international manufacturing operations.
You will be responsible for sourcing, selecting, and procuring materials, components, and services.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and finance, to implement and execute procurement strategies.
Additionally, you will closely monitor inventory levels, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and quality standards are met.
Responsibilities:
- Execute procurement strategies that are in alignment with the company's operational needs, cost targets, and overall business requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine material and component requirements, ensuring alignment with production schedules and project timelines.
- Continuously evaluate, improve and document procurement processes, identifying opportunities for cost savings, efficiency enhancements, and risk mitigation.
- Prepare, issue, and maintain direct and indirect purchase orders, sales orders and stock transfer orders according to business requirements, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
- Interface with contract manufacturer facilities and other Legrand business units for support of material requirements.
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels, anticipating demand, and initiating replenishment orders to maintain optimal stock levels, while preventing excess.
- Enter and maintain system data to ensure system accuracy lead times, min-max values, days of supply, etc.
- Set up new suppliers and maintain existing supplier relationships, fostering strong partnerships to ensure reliable and timely delivery of materials.
Monitor and control pricing, lead times and all aspects of supplier performance.
- Stay updated with market trends, industry developments, and technological advancements to recommend innovative procurement solutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
Relevant certifications (e.
g.
, CSCP, CPSM) are a plus.
- Proven experience as a buyer or procurement professional, preferably in a manufacturing or technology industry.
- Working knowledge of procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, SAP and Replenishment
skills are highly desirable.
- Proficient with MS Office applications including MS Teams, advanced MS Excel skills are desirable.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and inventory control.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the ability to support CSR initiatives.
- Ability to analyze complex data, make informed decisions, and solve problems effectively.
