This position is responsible for coordination of initial training, continued staff development and competency assessment of Renown Medical Groups medical assistants.
This position also has Quality Assurance responsibilities and serves as a resource for all site management and medical assistants.
Nature and Scope:
The position is responsible to ensure Renown Ambulatory Services medical assistants are trained and competent in all clinical skills performed by medical assistants in Renown Medical Group, Urgent Care, Ambulatory Services Specialty and Renown Occupational Health settings.
The position is responsible to stay current regarding changes in medical assistants scope of practice.
The Medical Assistant Training Coordinator must maintain, and update as needed, a training manual and a training program for all medical assistants within Ambulatory Services.
The incumbent has adult education skills and is challenged to develop the medical assistant staff using a variety of adult learning principles including didactic, self-directed and clinical modalities.
The position requires outcome evaluation of these teaching and learning strategies The position is responsible for developing and coordinating up-to-date in-service classes for existing medical assistants related to all competency-based clinical skills.
This includes maintaining an up-to-date and published calendar of detailed new employee training schedules, in-service classes and competency assessments offered to all medical assistants and their supervisors/managers within Ambulatory Services.
Training to include education for knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based upon physical, motor/sensory, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to the age of the patient served, and meet the standards of quality as measured by the department age-specific standard.
Medical Assistant provides patient care for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in the ambulatory setting.
Upon completion of all new and existing medical assistant training and/or competency assessments, the Medical Assistant Training Coordinator must provide the medical assistant and his or her director supervisor/manager with a signed copy of the medical assistants competency assessment.
This position is responsible for providing existing Renown Ambulatory Services medical assistants with continuing education opportunities to keep their skills current.
This position does provide patient care.

Minimum
Qualifications:
Requirements - Required and/or Preferred Education:
Must have a working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.
Experience:
Two (2) years as a Medical Assistant and/or Medical Assistant Trainer required.
Clinical training experience preferred.
License(s):
None.
Certification(s):
Basic Life Support certification (BLS-Healthcare provider course) Ability to obtain and maintain an Office Laboratory Assistant Certification within six (6) months of employment.
Computer / Typing:
Must become proficient in EPIC EMR within 90 days.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook,PowerPoint, Excel and Word andhave the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
