Summary:
The Mechanical Engineering Technician assumes different roles, including, but not limited to, mechanical and mechatronics engineering, controls/automation engineering, manufacturing engineering, and systems integration.
This position will report to the Senior Mechanical Engineer.

N/A Essential Functions To include, but are not limited to the following:
Product Development Support o Communicate effectively with customers and vendors and resolve any issues as they arise.
o Use Microscopes and hand tools to inspect device components.
o Assemble prototype and production devices.
o Able to utilize mechanical dexterity to assemble and troubleshoot initial product builds and provide technical support to the team of Assemblers as required.
Document Control Support o Proper documentation related to product design and development within the company's quality system, including project planning, risk management documentation, manufacturing documentation (ex.
, LHRs, BOMs, etc.
).
o Write and maintain product documentation such as user manuals, wiring diagrams, component drawings, etc.
Manufacturing Equipment Support o Coordinate with Eyenovia Engineering Department to complete installation of manufacturing equipment on the assembly.
o Assist Engineering Department with completion of Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification, and Process Qualification (PQ) as needed.
o Ensure equipment and fixtures are maintained and calibrated in accordance with the Equipment Requirements Records (ERR).
o For each maintenance or calibration event, an Equipment Maintenance and Calibration Record (EMCR) will be completed.
Product Design Support o Understands various manufacturing processes (turning, milling, sheet metal, injection molding, etc.
).
And use various materials with said manufacturing processes (aluminum, steel, plastics, etc.
) o Minor design work on prototype and production components and assemblies for medical devices using CAD (Solidworks).
o Assists with creating detailed drawings of parts and assemblies.
o Assists with creating revisions to the existing drawings as requested by Senior Management and/or Quality Assurance.
o Other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES To include, but are not limited to the following:
Education/Training/Experience Minimum of Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology (or a similar Engineering discipline) from an accredited college or university, or 3 years' equivalent experience, preferably in medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry.
Experience with designing single component and multi-component assemblies in CAD (Soldiworks preferred) Expertise in Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Working knowledge of ISO 9000 or similar quality systems.
Ability to perform basic mechanical assembly of very small parts.
Must possess good mechanical intuition and attention to detail.
Must be able to prioritize a diverse workload to meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly motivated, goal orientated achiever with ability to prioritize and organize own work independently.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to learn independently.
Proficiency with written and spoken English.
Demonstrated knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across all functional groups and all levels.
Team player that enjoys working in a challenging and dynamic environment.
Work a day-time shift with occasional overtime as required by the business demands.
