14611785Position Purpose This position is charged with responsibility for the delivery of world class quality care and patient safety, and for achieving targeted economic results, all as relate to the cardiovascular service line and consistent with the fundamentals and strategic objectives of Renown Health. This position will work in dyad leader relationship with the Renown Physician Director of Cardiovascular Care to directly and jointly lead the development of the Renown Cardiovascular Service Line to ensure objectives, outcomes, and goals are achieved. This position is accountable for clinical program development and improvement through analyzing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and communicating programs to develop, grow, and integrate the services of the service line throughout Renown Health. The position works closely with physicians and requires advanced practice expertise to identify and implement improvement processes, and the ability to design, direct, and implement clinical programs for the service line. Under the direction of the dyad leader positions of the Chief Clinical and Quality Officer of Renown Health and Chief of Staff of Renown Health, direct reports include Renown Medical Group clinic management of Cardiology and related clinics as well as Renown Regional Medical Center management of cardiology focused care delivery environments and will work in collaboration with RMG and Hospital executives. The role will need to work effectively within matrix relationships and with other Renown Health leadership. Nature and Scope This position is responsible for leading Renown Health's Institute for Heart and Vascular Health that focuses on the continuum of care from wellness to end of life. The role will be instrumental in developing a patient centered approach that will drive practices, strategies, and performance of the Institute for Heart and Vascular Health within Renown. This role serves as a leader of the administrative reporting structure for the Cardiology clinics and will be required to work with administrative and physician leadership structures to drive performance including but not limited to patient experience, clinical outcomes, utilization, transformational healthcare and financial outcomes. As part of Renown Health, the Director is responsible for the leadership of clinical staff and support staff in the Institute for Heart and Vascular Health. The role will facilitate initiatives that fall in line with the Renown strategies for the Institute for Heart and Vascular Health. This role is also responsible for Program Development as outlined below:
A. Strategic Planning:
Work with appropriate team to develop and monitor cardiovascular services long term strategic plan, annual objectives and operational plans focusing on quality improvement, growth, cost reduction, academic program development and utilization management. Specific elements to be addressed in such planning include; new programming, facility and equipment needs, clinical staff competencies and resource planning, business strategies and capital needs. B. Program Promotion/Marketing:
Participate in the development of promotional and other marketing activities consistent with the marketing needs of cardiovascular services. This will include development of appropriate relationships with the public, payors and the medical community, both locally and regionally. C. Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that efforts meet or exceed standards of the various accrediting and approving bodies. Actively participate in efforts to ensure compliance with all appropriate regulatory agencies. D. Research and Education:
Identify and work closely with other Medical Directors, IRB, as approved by Renown Health senior administration and medical staff, to support clinical research initiatives appropriate for the Institute. Insure fulfillment of the educational learning environment to support the undergraduate and graduate program. Participate in the planning and implement of local and regional continuing medical education, community and staff education related to cardiovascular services. E. Financial Management of clinical practice across the continuum in alignment with Renown business model for value based and destination health care strategy. Leadership
Responsibilities:
This role will drive Cardiovascular clinical integration initiatives within the practice and coordinate throughout Renown Health for the items including but not limited to Accountable Care, Medical Home Provation Order Sets Pathways. The position will be responsible for educating Renown around key initiatives and strategies for the Renown Health as they relate to the Institute for Heart and Vascular Health:
Clinical Quality Improvement - Champion the clinical quality improvement process - Actively participate in periodic meetings to discuss complex patient care issues and practices in partnership with the area specific medical directors. - Develop standards for clinical quality and operator performance. - Participate, as appropriate, in continuous quality improvement studies. - Play a major role in identifying and achieving benchmark levels of clinical performance (including awards). Provide assistance to resolve clinical problems. Accountability:

This position will work directly with the Cardiology physician dyad leader to create a premier Institute for Heart and Vascular Health for Renown Health and the community. Cost Management:
Capital Equipment Acquisition:
Participate in the capital equipment acquisition process through capital equipment planning, the annual capital budget process and equipment evaluation. Recommend acquisition of new and replacement equipment. Budgeting:
lead and participate in the annual operating budget process helping to develop and evaluate volume projections as they relate to staffing, supply and equipment needs in the context of quality improvement, and cost reduction. Policies and Procedures:
Be available as needed to approve and review all operational policies and Procedures related to Cardiovascular programs. Cost Reduction:
Actively participate in efforts to reduce the cost of service while maintaining or enhancing the quality of service. Actively support efforts to identify and achieve benchmark levels of cost performance on a population, bundle and per unit of service level as applicable. Team Development:

Must have college-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Master's Degree in healthcare administration, nursing or related field. Doctoral degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of ten years of progressive experience in sophisticated hospital, medical group or service line leadership. Experience in an integrated health system preferred. License(s):

Professional Certification in cardiovascular services preferred. Computer / Typing:
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
Salary Range:
$200K -- $250K
Minimum Qualification
