Accountant Technician 2 - University Advancement The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Accounting Technician 2 to serve in the Foundation's finance department, a unit of University Advancement. This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding. The individual in this role is responsible for:
performing general ledger reconciliations and bank reconciliations, processing vendor payments and gift payments, preparing bank deposits and performing related reconciliations, compliance, data compilation, data analysis, preparing audit workpapers, preparing journal entries, responding to data and/or information requests; and for special projects assigned by the Foundation ControllerThe Accounting Technician 2 may be required to provide guidance and training to other departmental personnel and students as it relates to Workday transactions and the processing of vendor paymentsThis is in addition to the processing of income to the Foundation in accordance with accounting standards, GASB, NSHE Board of Regents Handbook, the UNR Administrative Manual and IRS guidelines. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
