Job Description
Duties and
Responsibilities:
o Manage Zorders (open customer order report) for the department and review items for completion and route accordingly.
o Fill out Bills of Lading, interplants, time recordings, and complete air bills while ensuring correct weights and quantities for outbound freight.
o Perform critical jobs or tasks within the department to cover manning shortages as needed.
o Schedule and identify truckloads and schedule inbound trucks to ensure customer on-time delivery and cost effective routing.
o Regular coordination with planning group on sales orders, capacity, and customer issues as well as
communication with customer service regarding errors in sales orders.
o Responsible for loading trucks as needed which includes the use of a forklift, crane, and/or yard hosteller.
o Able to work safely and produce effectively with minimal supervision.
o Supports all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to:
oMaintain 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas.
oTrack and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor.
oEncourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility.
o Other duties as assigned to maintain an efficient work flow throughout dept.
Physical Requirements:
o Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
o Able to regularly lift 50 pounds without assistance.
o Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.
Working Conditions:
o Exposure to high noise level (ear protection may be required in some areas).
o Exposed to 100 degrees or higher temperatures during certain seasons of the year.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
Minimum
Qualifications:
o High School Education or equivalent (diploma, GED, etc.).
o Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format in English.
o Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends with little advanced notice.
o Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
