Job Description
Assists in directing the press crew
Ensures that production goals are met
Obtains and maintains register, color and line up during the makeready and production processes
Assists with training of new crew members
Performs preventive maintenance on press equipment
Identifies and troubleshoots press problems
Assists the Operator in keeping the press area in a clean and orderly condition
Maintains necessary press records
Analyzes and interprets the various color, register, pressure, tension and folding requirements necessary to obtain and maintain the established printing quality
Keeps constant check on production to ensure proper counts for special runs or deliveries
Makes folder adjustments
Performs all necessary operations to start or stop the press
Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out tag out, and hearing and eye protection policies
Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned
Requires general knowledge of gravure presswork procedures and materials. Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up and materials needed to run the job successfully. Skill to follow instructions to operate equipment safely and produce the desired product. Skill in performing routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment under guidance of senior level Press Operators.

Demonstrated dependability, including good attendance record and willingness to work overtime
Strong safety focus
Demonstrated leadership, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated mechanical aptitued to assess problems and support fixes
Required Experience
Previous experience in web printing process required, including prior experience as rolltender - gravure or offset process
Previous experience as an Assistant presslead is desired.
